Imo its just a novelty fish they stock. I feel sorry for them as fisherman see them & target them regularly. a few fly guys try to lift them. & spin guys try to snag them
Thank you......troutfishing4life wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2023 9:11 amNice way to get it done!
The goldens are fun by catch

I used to have all 3 myself. But now I just keep a NJ & PA non resident. I keep the NJ because it cheap. & the PA 1 I can use up in the upper west branch delaware where the river us shared on with side of NY & PA. They sure do bang you on the fee of being a non resident
Still and all the non-resident license is a bargain at $62. You drop 2x that on going on a dinner date.Troutman wrote: ↑Mon May 01, 2023 11:28 amI used to have all 3 myself. Agree. I just pay for the full year access instead of those 1 day or 7 day passes. Its cheaper in the long run. I mite fish the free days in NY in other streams. But very doubtful I will purchase a NY license again. I'll purchase a PA for the waters I fish in NYmartalus wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2023 10:36 amDamn right-any fishing license in the states, resident or non, is a bargain compared to other uses of money these days. It feels like inflation hasn't really affected fishing licenses. How much does a beer or glass of wine cost and a mediocre restaurant cost these days? what about 2-3 drinks with an average dinner? How much are two movie tickets with popcorn and drinks? How much does it cost to fill up your car? What about a lift ticket to go skiing in the Poconos, much less VT or Colorado? I live in the DC area and the in district DC license is $10 with non resident being $13! Sure there is no stocking program with minimal enforcement, but there are s-ton of fish here, making it an amazing bass, catfish, carp, shad, perch, snakehead fishery. NJ and PA licences cost a bit more, but you have a lot of stocked and naturally reproducing fish with public access. Point being, don't be cheap on licenses if its something you love!
